"Heeey, you've reached Yang! Well, actually, you didn't reach far enough, 'cause I'm not here right now! But don't yang up! Just leave a message on this baby, and I'll get back to you soon enough, okay?"
That's what my armor's for. It holds up a lot better than it looks. [But the idea of being able to retaliate is good.] So...you're going to hit me. How do I recover and retaliate from that?
Remind me to see if you've got anything for long-ranged fighters later... but close range, there's usually a moment where they're open enough, and that's when they're aiming for you. If you can avoid or take that first hit, try to get under their guard and aim where you can. Abdomen, stomach, chest, below the belt, under the chin... they're all good spots to either get your opponent down or further away from you.
I'm working on it. [He actually sounds a little proud of himself.] I have blueprints and everything. …Ruby sort of helped with that, too. [He seems a little more than pleased with that, too.] By the time I'm done building the thing it's gonna be so sick.
[Weaponry aside…] So basically I need to look for a chance for a preemptive strike. [He stares at his hands first, then his legs.] I can probably kick harder than I can punch armor especially if I'm using my own weight to throw behind each hit. [He's generating ideas as is.] I think I have ideas…wanna try it?
[There's a beat.] …you're sure none of this is actually gonna hurt you?
[ Of course Ruby helped with it. Of course she did. Yang takes on a very brief expression, reminiscent of the Grinch on the realization of a diabolical idea, but then it's gone and she simply looks... well, amused. ]
If I was afraid of a little pain, I wouldn't be at Beacon. You might regret hurting me, but-- well, let's give it a shot.
[That look is a little disconcerting...he's not sure what to make of it before he just waves it off and nods, fixing his stance and prepping himself.]
If I really regretted it, I wouldn't be here. Come at me like you're going to hit me. [He already has a plan in his head. It all depends on where Yang tries to hit him though.]
[He watches her fist draw closer and closer before he jumps, using her fist as a landing point to launch himself away from her in a backflip much like before but using Yang as a base. He lands on his feet a bit shakily before he's up and swooping in for a roundhouse kick into her stomach hoping to knock her off-guard.
Asking him to actively think about it won't result in such precision, but instinct sure will.]
[ Not bad. He's definitely agile, and he knows to use his size and strength to his advantage. If she hadn't already known not to underestimate him-- well, it's a good tactic. It would catch most people off-guard.
But Yang's got years of hand-to-hand combat beneath her belt, and as Hiro's kick flies for her stomach, she pivots to the side and moves to try and hook her arm under his leg in the hopes of yanking him off his other leg. ]
[He's used to catching people off-guard and he's used to being able to free himself and run away. He's never gone up against somebody like Yang, but that doesn't stop him yet. She's successful at grabbing his leg and knocking him off his feet, but the other leg moves to try and trap her arm between his shins and tug her down with him.
Sadly Hiro probably only weighs about 100 pounds when wet so he sort of just ends up dangling off of her like a scrawny Christmas ornament. He doesn't surrender yet, instead working his way out of her grip to land nearly on his head and tumble out of it. He's learned from the last time and doesn't stay on the ground for long, popping back up before attempting to strike again with a punch to her collarbone.
Yang's not holding back and it makes him more comfortable with the idea of hitting her. Once he gets close enough he jabs with one fist before following closely with the other and spinning to the side to try and connect his foot with her chest again.
Honestly, if he lands a hit on her he'll be surprised, but this is good practice.]
[ She can't fault him for his determination, or his resourcefulness. It's easy enough to tell why Ruby's so enamored with him, but because this is Yang, and because she likes the kid, she's really not holding back-- much. Going all out would be a little too much, but she can treat him like she would treat a respected opponent.
He's already learning from his past fumbles and experiences-- good for him. She'd smile, but she's focusing now on his movements, deflecting his fists and leaping back to avoid his foot. Not for long, though; Yang's already sprinting forward to throw a punch at his jaw, but it's a half-feint-- sure, she'll follow through on it, but she's also going to bring a knee sharply up and aimed at his chest if he's too focused on her fist. ]
[She's good. She's way, way better than he anticipated and he knows she's following him step for step and he won't be able to beat her but he'll go down swinging. It's a rookie mistake though that he focuses on her fist as he brings a hand up to block and push her back. There's a solid thud as her knee hits his chest and he goes reeling back again with a loud gasp and hitting the floor. It knocks the wind out of him but he's struggling to lift back up onto his elbows and knees.]
Ow… [That seems to be the key word because there's the squeaking of vinyl as Baymax waddles forward to his patient for a quick scan.]
Hiro. You have fallen. My sensors detect several ruptured capillaries on your chest and your face. [Baymax holds up a finger suddenly] These will form: bruises. Recommended treatment is a cold compress. Would you like me to prepare one for you?
…sure, buddy. [And off Baymax goes to track down some ice. He sits up, arms draped over his knees that're pulled up to his chest as he looks at Yang critically.] At least they're only bruises. That was better though, right?
[Please say yes, Yang-sensei. Don't crush his dreams.]
Yep. You're definitely a quick learner. [ And she'll offer him a hand up-- unless he'd rather stay sitting. ] Don't get me wrong-- against most attackers, you'll probably have a better chance of surprising them. And we'll work on building your stamina up, too.
Let me guess, with hard work and determination? [He's not too badly injured if he can still snark. But he takes her hand and pulls himself up, rubbing his jaw before carefully pressing on his bruised ribs. Baymax reappears with what looks like a wad of paper towels wrapped around some ice and Hiro's…not going to ask where he got those. It's good enough until they get home.]
We can keep going in a bit. I think you wrecked my ribs. [It's mostly a joke, but seriously, ow.] With my gunblade and these moves? Nobody's gonna know what to expect. [There's a wry grin.] And I can protect everybody a lot better. This'll be awesome.
you can not see it, but i am laughing [oh yang.] I do not think I could get away with that at all.
But it would be nice if people noticed and were envious.
We are going to the aquarium, so I suppose the clothing should not be anything too fancy? I do not want to be out of place and turn heads for wrong reason
