[Unknown to Yang, Hiro actually screamed and dropped his CereVice as it started ringing. So it's a few moments before he tentative picks up.]

...okay. Go ahead, I'm ready. [Bracing himself for the yelling.]

[ ... Hiro. Hiro pls. ]

Calm down, I'm on board with this.

...wait, you are?

Mmhm. Forever in limbo. Guess we just won't be able to do anything.

[BUT CUDDLE a bit.]

Well, yeah. I mean, you're a good kid and you'd definitely be good support for her.

And if you hurt her, I know exactly who you are and how to make you regret it.

[ BUT CUDDLING. ]

Um. Thanks? [That's a little easier at least. He thinks about what he's doing before humming to himself.] Tadashi told me that girls never confess first and that I need to tell her to stop making it weird.

[There's a small sound though.] And I would never hurt her. Don't even joke about that.

Well, he's right that it's only gonna get weirder if you don't do anything...

For the record, though, I confessed first.

That's because you're dating Naoki. [He's spoken to the guy once but Ruby's told him enough stories.] If you waited for him you'd probably still be waiting, right? Anyway you probably already knew he liked you. You had the advantage.

Actually, I had no idea whether he liked me or not. I had to ask his demons for advice, and then Naoki got so upset when he heard I liked someone that he wound up cluing me in so I could tell him that same day.

His what now? [Um. That's new.] Whatever, it's not like I can ask Crescent Rose for advice on what to do about Ruby. And I mean...it's going to be weird. Ruby and I are friends. I just want to make sure I'm not going to screw up by telling her, and Tadashi says I won't and that it'll be better to get it off my chest but I'd rather keep it on my chest if she's going to freak out.

This is Ruby we're talking about. I mean, I can't guarantee that you'll probably surprise her a lot, but she'll be able to handle a confession. My sister's pretty strong.

It's not just that. It's also about the timing and making sure she actually takes it seriously and that she doesn't think I'm weird because I think I freaked her out on the bridge with other stuff. And I know Ruby's strong. I've...told her a lot of stuff I haven't told anybody else here and she's taken all of it.

I mean I could just call her after I hang up with you and just say "Hey Ruby I know we used to make fun of everybody for being weird and dating and we're just partners but I think I really like you", but I don't think that's gonna work.

Then do it like this-- you're a smart kid, you'll figure out a good moment. Don't try to plan it. On a day when stuff isn't exploding or people aren't acting crazy and she does something to like, remind you that you really, really like her... say it then.

It'll come a lot more naturally than you think.

Oh, so you mean when she opens her mouth and says hi next time I see her. [It's a wry sort of reply...but it's true. Now that he's talked to other people about it, it's really hard not to think about why he likes her so much.

This whole "emotions" and "hormones" business sucks.]

Let's just hope things slow down for just a little bit so there can be a good moment.

You guys are okay though right? After all the weird ghost stuff that happened.

Yeah, we're fine. Ruby doesn't look half-dead, and Naoki... had a rough time with all the negativity making him super sick, but he's doing better now too.

[ Yang's fine. Of course Yang's fine. ]

[Funny, Tadashi's brackets said the same thing. Anyway, he's still pretty heart-eyes about Ruby but he can at least shift his attention to what Yang's explaining.]

Was Naoki sick before the wall collapsed? And I still wanna go back to the whole demon thing because Ruby never explained that.

[Naoki chuckles--seems like he's more cheered than earlier. Of course, thanks to Yang as per usual.]

[ Heart-eyes away, lover boy. ]

No, he was fine, but I think that was just a whole lot of overwhelming stuff at once.

... As for the demon stuff, I guess in his world, there were a lot of them, and if you beat them up or whatever, they'd side with you?

[ Abridged version. ]

Sure, sure. Here I go—! [And that's about the only heads up he'll give before he's dashing off, sword drawn. He bounds across the distance between himself and the robot in a very short time, darting up the side, and immediately thrusts his blade into the part of the gap with the most wires. There's an impressive shower of sparks and the robot twitches like some freaky robot spider AND KASHUU'S NYOOMING BACK AWAY.]

...there's a game like that where I'm from, but they aren't demons. [They're Pokemon, but he's not saying that either.] How many does he have? And why are you weirdly okay with it?

Why doesn't that surprise me. [A beat.] I don't think he was the only one overwhelmed by the spirits. I just wish I knew how to combat them better in case this happens again.
