It's hard, considering the fact that Natalia knows that if any of her friends were in he situation, making excuses for someone who isn't there, she'd be just as frustrated about it. But it's hard to reconcile that with the feelings of a promise that she'd held onto for years, perhaps a bit unhealthily.
For now though, she just sets her bowl of ice cream aside and hugs her stuffed animal closer to her.]

Honestly, I don't think you have to. If he was trying to think of the world like you were thinking about the country, maybe he's just trying to protect it in a way he couldn't do as a king.
