[ Ah, yes. Her graceful baby sister, tactful as always. But it makes Yang grin as she lets Ruby go without fuss, setting the marshmallows on the counter and rummaging in one of the cabinets for the box of graham crackers. ]

He kinda reads at your level of awkward to me, sometimes...

[She... doesn't know how to answer this!!! "Friend" doesn't seem quite right, and neither does "best friend", because Yang is Ruby's best friend. But...

He's my hero partner? He said we'd work together to help protect people here, and I have to make sure he doesn't overdo it because he doesn't take care of himself very well.

... Mm, yeah, he does kind of overdo it sometimes, huh? I mean, I guess he has his cool moments... maybe.

He doesn't really depend on people very easily. [Ruby's definitely musing on this hard.] But... he agreed to let me help and he said that he trusts me, so... maybe I can help somehow.

Of course you can. [ SAY THAT MORE POSITIVELY, RUBY! ] If you put your mind to it, there's nobody you can't help. Looks like he's already noticed that.
