"Heeey, you've reached Yang! Well, actually, you didn't reach far enough, 'cause I'm not here right now! But don't yang up! Just leave a message on this baby, and I'll get back to you soon enough, okay?"
[truth be told, yuri has no idea what to expect in messaging yang. he's kept his distance not so much out a want or a conscious avoidance, but because he knows this is a tough topic to breach.
they're not exactly the closest of friends, but he can see the effect this has on ruby. he can only imagine how much worse it is for yang herself. but yuri's not the type to hold back, and there are probably a few things that may be good for her to hear.
(not that yuri's all that qualified as an advice dispenser, but as someone with a lot of shit luck and even more trouble on his back, he may have something useful to offer.]
Hey. You up for visitors or are we still on a "check with Ruby and follow the rules" basis here? [he doesn't care either way. if all he can get is a chat via cerevice, he'll take it. in-person would be better, but he gets it.]
[ Yuri's stayed with them before, and she doesn't think he's going to say or do anything that she won't be able to handle-- or, if she can't, Naoki won't be far away. Yang is still not exactly in the mood to talk about everything that's happened, but again, she doesn't know why Yuri wants to see her. ]
[at least if yuri's going to be a sarcastic asshole and make a joke, it's at his own expense. since most people know better than to tell him to do what he wants.]
Sounds like a good idea. See ya in about an hour or so. [why an hour when he only lives about five minutes away?
because he's yuri, he's always got a stupid plan, of course.]
[ She's wondering the same thing, honestly. Not that she'll ask-- Yuri can do what he wants, and it's not like Yang is going anywhere. So she'll just settle back to stare at the wall. ]
[this is fine. yuri's gonna yuri, so about an hour later he'll show up (and let himself in, because whatever, he does what he wants).]
Hey, Yang! I'm here! [in case she didn't hear him enter. he's prepared, too. it would've been a waste to make everything at his place and bring it over, so he's got everything he needs to make sliders and fries—simple and easy to eat. he'll just help himself to using the kitchen and hope she decides to either respond or show her face.]
[Poor Yang. It's almost like she's waking up to this for the first time again. Weiss wants to encourage her, but she feels like being too active will just force her back into those walls she's built up the last few months. She speaks softly:]
Hey, let's take things one step at a time. You're stronger than any of us, I know you can get back on your feet.
[ Actually, he probably should have knocked on the door to her room first, which he does now. Ruby had already let him inside the apartment, but approaching Yang herself will require some finesse. Which we can all agree is unnatural for Jaune Arc. ]
Ruby said I could come over, and, uh... she said I can take some food home since you got so much and-- H-Hey, is it alright if I come in?
[ Well. It's a response?? It's not a yes or a no, but considering it's not total silence, that probably means he can enter the forbidden territory of a girl's bedroom. ]
[ ...to see her. Which he does as he invites himself in. It hadn't occurred to him that they haven't seen each other since the fall of Beacon, they both suffered losses on that day as well as personal failures. His sudden silence as he sees her isn't due to shock, he knew what to expect when they inevitably meet up again. No, seeing Yang just makes him realize how glad he is that she's alive. If he learned anything from that day back at Beacon, it's that nobody is invincible. ]
[ She's pretty tired, day to day, especially with this resurgence of wanting to keep those close to her... well, close, when she'd done so well at shutting them out. Of shutting her emotions out, but then she'd sobbed on Ruby and Naoki, and well. She's not completely okay, and it'll be a long time before she can say that she is, but at least the Yang looking back at Jaune isn't as distant. ]
[what better way to celebrate a day off than by doing a little cardio by means of running? normal people might take time to rest and get rid of the intense bags under their eyes. flynn, however, isn't normal and is, quite honestly, a moron.
today's running session has him with a canine companion. repede enjoys a little workout and is a really good partner to run with. he keeps up the pace, has good endurance and makes the run a little more pleasant than doing it solo. after a decent amount of running, flynn stops for a moment to check his pulse. repede, not nearly as dedicated of an athlete, opts to browse around the area and sniff things, maybe get in a little territory marking. what? a dog's gotta dog.]
[ There's another dog out and about, although he hasn't strayed very far from an apartment building-- where someone's definitely sitting there on the first few steps, apparently sunning herself.
And also missing an arm.
She doesn't appear to have noticed them yet, but the little corgi will bark when he spots Repede, stubby tail wagging at incredible speeds. ]
[the barking catches both the attention of dog and knight. with how repede's own tail wags at the sight of the little corgi, it's obvious the excitement is mutual.]
A friend of yours, Repede?
[repede gives an affirmative nod and starts on over to the pair by the apartment. flynn follows behind, more than happy to give the pooch some time to hang out with his friend. hopefully, the owner of the corgi doesn't mind the company. a warm smile greets yang as soon as flynn draws closer.]
Pardon my intrusion, Miss, but would it be all right if these two played for a while? They appear to be friends.
[ The voice is familiar, vaguely-- but with the time that Yang's been gone from the colony, it's not someone she can place immediately. The dog, though, she knows-- and so does Zwei, who is happily prancing over to say hello.
Yang, on the other hand, offers up a tired shrug. ]
[Edgeworth was planning on paying Yang a visit today, but he certainly wasn't planning for his dog to be first. Pess had run off, and it doesn't take long for him to find Yang and place his head right on her lap as if begging for a good petting or even a scratch.
Pess says hello, please say hello to him too. His tail is wagging and he's panting like...well, he definitely did run full tilt toward her after catching her scent.]
... Hey, Pess. [ Sure, rubbing his ears isn't very complicated to do with one hand. Even though she still doesn't look very exuberant, but hey. It's something? ]
[Pess senses that Yang's mood is not what it used to be when they first met. Nonetheless, the dog relaxes in her company and lets her rub his ears. What a quiet, well-behaved dog this is.
He'll try to lick her hand and show signs of wanting to jump up and lie right in her lap. Pess doesn't care that she only has one hand to pet him with, it's the quality of the petting that counts.
...and he also doesn't seem to care that he lost his owner. Or, he probably knows Edgeworth will find him real soon. Like in the next tag.]
... [ dog, you are much bigger than Zwei, please be gentle. She'll let him, of course, if he ends up sprawled across her lap, because dogs are hard tto resist. ]
