[He laughs.] I was just glad. [For more than one reason. He can't really explain it, though, without explaining a lot of things that've happened. You trust me enough to just fall asleep when I'm right there.]
But, since I don't want you headbutting me, what should I talk about?
[ She'll take it as I'm glad you actually went to sleep when you looked like you'd crawled out from the depths of hell, and thank goodness he's tactful.
But Yang hums, thoughtful. ]
... Anything? [ SO HELPFUL. ] Whatever's on your mind, whatever you feel like rambling about...
Rambling, huh... I dunno if I'm the rambly type. [he's just wondering it, vaguely teasing, as he winds some of her hair into a loose braid. This is relaxing.]
...You know, [since he's got it on his mind right now] there's no sun in the Vortex World.
[ ... Well. That's definitely not a subject she expected, but she likes the unexpected, so Yang will settle into the conversation fairly easily (and this time only smiling when she feels her hair being loosely twisted about). ]
So what do you do for light? Is it just endless night there or something?
[It's because of her hair, honestly-- it's bright and it glows sometimes and it reminds him of the sun. He's trying to figure out why he likes it so much.]
Nah-- there's a thing called Kagutsuchi. There's no moon, either, but there're its cycles. But it's more than that, too. It's sentient, and any of the people with a Reason in my world would have to get to it and be chosen for their worlds to be created.
...If my body weren't a demon's, I probably would've had a rougher time travelling the Vortex World under it. I mean, even demons act strange when it's full, like they're drunk.
[He leans forward to lean his head past her shoulder after sweeping her hair more to the other side. That way he can grin at her.] But I figured it was past due for you to get a silly nickname.
Mmm-- well, since it's just you and me here, it might be a waste of a great speech.
[He shifts his hands when the braid's loose and slides his hands under her hair. He scoops it off of her neck for a moment before letting it fall back into place.]
I can save it for Yurlungur and Long. [ casually waves a hand-- and then gives her head a shake to let her hair settle. It's so much nicer to have it be manageable again, and letting Naoki play with it is weirdly relaxing. ] Make it the ballad of the demon lord and the charisma queen.
[Yang'll hear nothing at first, no response, but a weight will rest against her back (the top of Naoki's head), and maaaaybe she'll be able to feel a slight shaking, before hearing the laughter.
It sounds like such a cross between cheesy and... he doesn't even know, something you'd name a heavy metal song?]
Nah, I'll leave the vocals to someone who can pull off something so epic. [ But she's grinning, despite her solemn tone. Well, she'd aimed to keep the mood up and she's got Naoki laughing into her back, so... success! ]
